Yet again, this is my favorite month! This month has held so many changes and developments, it has been so much fun to watch! She has really started to come out this month and is becoming very social. She's losing the seriousness and starting to be happy and giggling most all the time.
Here are a few things about Ruthie's 5th month of life:
Loves:
-She still loves the saucey. Shes still tiny, so we have to stuff blankets behind her.
-She Loves to Sneeze, she thinks it is absolutely hilarious
-She loves to blow bubbles, and is so proud of herself. She does it when she is really happy or seeing someone she really likes
-loves to be thrown in the air or if we hold her and drop quickly, that is loads of fun! She squeals and giggles a lot and we think is going to be a thrill seeker.
-loves to splash in the bathtub and loves holding her bath cups and duckie.
-She absolutely loves Chloe and loves to pat pat her. (Notice the flip top head just to see Chloe)

-She still loves to be swaddled, After talking to the doctor, until she really starts rolling over, there isn't any reason to stop doing it since it doesn't affect her developmentally. She has napped a few times out of it, so one day we'll make the switch.
-She loves all her cousins and is so interested in what they do.
-playmat once again mainly because she can grab at things now, instead of just kicking
-She loves going to Costco (she is our child after all).
-She really loves it if you watch her doing anything.
-She loves to stand
-She loves to get her diaper changed
-She is grabbing everything, and anything in her hands or closeby goes directly into her mouth.
Nicknames:
Ruthiekins, Ruthie Lou Hoo, Little Lou, Babykins, babycakes
Size:
Roughly 13 pounds, 24 1/2", about 6 of the cutest dimples I've ever seen and dark, dark beautiful brown eyes. She is in 3-6 month clothes, the 6 month size is fitting better. She's still tiny, and not near as chunky as these pictures make her look! She has a few good rolls we love!
Sleep:
Whats that? Just kidding. The 5th month was a little rough with sleep. We thought it was a growth spurt but then it never stopped and Ruthie was eating every 3 hours around the clock. Thankfully, the a few nights this week she has been sleeping from 8pm-3am, feeding, then back down until 7am. We're trying to figure out how to get consistent.

She takes 3 naps a day from about 1 1/2-2 hours and a short 20 minute nap in the evening, which we're working on dropping the last one.
Eating:
She is currently nursing at 3am, 7am, 10am, 1pm, 4pm, 7pm. We've started feeding her avocado mixed with milk. She loves it.
Mobility:
Not yet. We're savoring this non-mobile stage and trying to prepare for whats coming! She can scoot around while laying on her back, and spin all the way around.
This month's firsts:
- weekend trip with Just me, she did great and loved her big night with Papa.

-her first Seafood festival which she loved.

How cute are those shoes! Thanks Erin and Quade!

-we started going to a playgroup nearby (which we both love),
-her first cold (pitiful!).
What she is close to doing:
-sitting by herself. She is starting to use her arms to prop herself up, but still falls over when she reaches for something.
-putting her paci back in her mouth
Other:
-She is getting so much better in the carseat and on road trips, now that she can hold her books or grab a toy.
-She doesn't hate tummy time, but it gets old after a few minutes and that is about the only time she shows interest in rolling. Here is the best roll picture I have since I can't seem to get it on video! Sorry Grandparents, I'm working on it!!
The 5th month has been a big one, I feel like every day Joel and I both comment about something new she has done. We're amazed, in love, and so happy with this sweet girl!*Sept. 11, 2009 is the day we found out we were expecting. Its amazing to think back a year ago and how much has changed that now we have this gorgeous girl who is doing so much fun stuff and has made our lives so much better!
