Grandma's Here!

We've had Grandma here for a week now and have been loving every second of it! The girls are both soaking up all the attention and I am loving the extra set of hands.

Since we've had her here we were able to get something I've really been wanting done!  I'll post more on that later, but here's a sneak peek into Lainie's new room complete with a wall instead of curtains!  Welcome back to my sanity!

Here's what we've been up to...

Lots of full laps

Swinging and sharing on the deck

More full laps and new toys!

Lots of Laughing (blurry, but too cute not to post!)

Fun on Grandma's kindle!

Chomping on her first candy necklace, she loved it (and all the ice cream her and Grandma have been getting! My girl is in heaven!)

And lots lots more!  Grandpa gets here tomorrow so we're looking forward to another week of fun!
Hope you're having a great start to the week.

Mom's Don't get Sick Days

Wow. These past two weeks have been a doozy. I got sick almost 2 weeks ago and was out of commission. Thankfully, my in-laws summer trip coincided with me getting sick and they have been majorly picking up the slack and taking care of Ruthie.

I know things take longer to heal when you're pregnant, but good grief, 2 weeks with a fever and feeling bad is seriously enough. I'm over it. I'm sick of laying around, sick of not doing things, and really sick of complaining about being sick. I'm sure everyone around me is ready for that to stop too!

So, for the past two weeks I've been on the couch and Ruthie has been having so much fun with Grandma
and Grandpa
Its definitely safe to say she absolutely loves her baby stroller, especially when Daddy races her around.

She also loves her new toy chest too.

Theres the last two week update! I am so incredibly thankful that we've had family here for this time period, it has made a huge difference.

On a side note, I failed my one hour gest. diabetes test last week so tomorrow I go back for the 3 hour. Even though I know its minor in the grand scheme of things I would love to pass this test and not have gest. diabetes. If you would pray that I pass I would really appreciate it.

Hopefully, I'm back up and blogging, there is a lot going on in our house to update on!

Slacker

I've been a major slacker lately and my only excuse is that we've been having too much fun with friends and each other! I think the Arnolds make the blog every few months and we its time again! We've been having such a great time with them, on the boatI think its safe to say Ruthie Loves it!

at the sand bar

in the water

and watching our girls play (there's something so sweet about watching your daughter play with one of your best friend's daughters, even if they do fight sometimes ;-)

We're all in vacation mode and loving every second of it. Please move Arnolds....we won't give up ;-) and before you go home we need a picture together!

Summer time!

Every year we are fortunate enough to have Grandma and Grandpa trek all the way from the Pacific Northwest and visit us over the summer. This year we were able to spend almost three weeks with Grandma, 10 days with Grandpa and a surprise 8 days with Auntie Jessica! It was a great time!

We had a great time hanging out

reading books

snuggling Ruthie

playing INTENSE, almost 'get your hands taken off' games of dutch blitz (If you haven't heard of it, you should definitely get this card game, it is so much fun!!).

having family photo shoots on the beach (with Ruthie in the cutest dress courtesy of Aunt Nana!)

celebrating Grandma's birthday early

and Ruthie thought she was looking in a mirror :-) and LOVED IT!
We also ate like we were on vacation which was delicious! Jay and Joel went deep sea fishing one day, so we had fish for dinner and all sorts of other great food. Diet starts now!!

We had a great time having everyone here and are so fortunate that Ruthie has so many people who love her and want to spend time with her!

Lastly, here is one of the sweetest pictures so far of Ruthie. I know I say it all the time, but I really can't hardly stand how sweet she is!

Man is it easy...

To get out of the habit of blogging! The summers are always busy for us with lots of company visiting, so it is so easy to put this on the back burner! This is something I do enjoy doing, so its time to get back to it!!

We had a great visit with Mary and Mitch from Boise and NY.

The past week, we have enjoyed having Grandma Judy around.
She is loving playing, reading, and teaching Ruthie all sorts of fun things!! We've had to convince her the amazing thing that the miracle blanket swaddler is, but now she is pretty much a believer. Ruthie is loving this time and all this attention she's getting. We're looking forward to Grandpa Jay and Auntie Jessica being around soon.

Ruthie is growing like crazy and this close to laughing out loud. Its coming soon and we CAN'T WAIT for it. She is also now IN LOVE with any stuffed animal that has a face. It is so cute, I can't hardly stand it! Her absolute best friend right now is Mr. Octopus that hangs on her playmat. This is what happens most of the time she looks at him.

How cute! Here is Chloes favorite spot!

Last night she slept from 10pm to 6:15am. Incredi-baby. It was awesome.

Like any growing beach girl, it was time to get her a bigger bathing suit. Target was having a clearance and there were three choices. One was blue with pink flowers, one was white with dots, and then there was this.....

I'm in love. I'm pretty sure Ruthie told me she needed a tutu, so really what choice did I have? Daddy loved it. Grandma also got Ruthie some really cute clothes for when she's a little bigger. We'll have to have a photo shoot of those when she can fit into them.

Lastly, one of my favorite pictures of me and my girl on the way to church. Love this baby! And love that cute pink dress from Jeff, skeet!
